2007 Congresso Nazionale ICD:
the muses of hairdressing.

Intercoiffure gets members involved in a rich programme of events that have been planned until 2012, creating intrigue with the cultural and symbolic richness of art.

Events, new stimuli, hair fashions and previews of climatic initiatives for the next few years were on the agenda at the Congresso Nazionale Intercoiffure Italia (Italian National Intercoiffure Congress), held on October 21st at Grand Hotel Firenze in the Tuscan capital. Following the introductory remarks of Carlo Alberto Rossi, the President of ICD Italia and Carlo Villirillo, the Sales Manager of Wella Professionals, Elsa Haralsdottir, the International Artistic Coordinator who came in from Iceland, explained the intense work that involves the group in the realisation of photo shoots to present the ICD collections.
Focus was then on the World Congress in Rio, which will be held between May 12th and 15th. Intercoiffure is also involved in solidarity initiatives. In Brazil it has created a hairdresser training school, which has been teaching young men and women to become hair stylists since 2003. “Ninety percent of the young people who have been involved up to now have found work in the salons of our associates” commented Carlo Alberto Rossi with satisfaction, explaining how the centre contributes to helping many young people to escape poverty. Following the success of the school in Rio, another two facilities were opened: one in Fortaleza, in Brazil, and the other in Romania.
The Congress in Rome was an exciting moment to get acquainted with an exclusive preview of the concept of the Intercoiffure International Congress, which will be organised for the first time in Italy. The event is set to be held in Rome in 2012. The theme of the event will be art and, more specifically, the muses who inspire creativity. The objective is to fascinate participants with a concept of beauty that embraces history as the essential roots of collective identity.
Next, Tullio Talia, the Artistic Coordinator of Intercoiffure Italia, spoke congratulating the young people of the Junior ICD Italia group: “This year gave us great satisfaction. We are planning on increasing the number of talents at our side. We are focusing a lot on young people.”
Sunday, therefore, concluded with three shows of Intercoiffure members who demonstrated three different faces of fashion. Tommaso Marroncini’s work ranged from a short 1980’s style to a complex gathered Renaissance-inspired style with a long blonde braid wrapped like a turban. Guido Mantellassi astonished with a Liza Minelli look, crowned by a performance to the music of “New York, New York”. Applause also went to the “Belle Epoque” picture which included Alessan
dra Pucci, Miss Wella 2007, as one of the models.
The show concluded with Silvano Buttà, who emphasised that a 1940’s-inspired look triumphed at the latest fashion collections presented in Milan. Blonde is greatly in vogue. Amongst the most interesting techniques on the scene is the gathered style created with braids made from the skilful combination of locks of hair and rhinestones. It provides a sophisticated effect perfect for elegant evenings.
